Prior to the official release of Shadowlands in 2020, the World of Warcraft (WOW) community was offered a majority poll to decide upon a unique free in-game mount to be added into the game at a much later date.
The voting campaign was held for the North American and European audiences of the game, with The Wandering Ancient emerging as the popular vote.
Now, a 15-second trailer was finally released, announcing the special in-game mount which promises two distinct features for players:
- A lumbering giant to intimidate enemies
- Its leaves can change colours according to the current seasonal change
This is the first time that WOW has introduced a community-chosen player mount to be distributed freely for all players of WOW: Shadowlands.
If player feedback is anything to go by, this freebie practice may well go beyond the year 2021 as well.
